In early October, The Heights School welcomed Ilton Vasconcellos, CEO, and Luiz Gustavo Vianna Almas, Commercial and Relationship Director of Solar Colégios, a network of twenty-six schools in Brazil, for a two-day campus visit. Meeting with several of the school’s heads and observing a few upper school classes, they learned about the educational philosophy and approach of The Heights, covering topics from mentoring and student formation to school culture and parent relationships. Ilton and Luiz even had a chance to witness the Freshmen Funeral Games, a celebration inspired by Book 5 of The Aeneid. During the last lunch, Ilton remarked how much of an impact seeing the school had on them: “There will be big changes when we go back.”
It was an honor for The Heights School to welcome fellow educators from Brazil to discuss the education and formation of boys.
