Leaders Initiative
The Leaders Initiative is a multi-month program of professional formation and executive coaching for current and aspiring school leaders. The Initiative convenes select groups of leaders for a series of targeted conversations on key topics relevant to school leadership. Drawing on the experience of The Heights School, the Leaders Initiative offers insights into the ideas and strategies behind directing a school, encouraging participants to think deeply about the principles informing practical decisions.
Campus Visits
Visit the campus of The Heights School in Potomac, MD and meet with teachers and school administrators. Campus visits are crafted to address the particular interests and needs of each visiting school administrator. We design one or two day visits, which consist of an overview of our school, classroom observations, and individual meetings with school administrators.
Speaking Engagements
Our faculty are available to speak at a variety of venues. For example, we have offered lectures for potential parents of start-up schools, teachers at faculty workshops, school communities at commencement ceremonies and fundraiser galas, and groups of parents at conferences and formational events.
Professional Development
Professional development days easily slip into routine, often becoming more a necessary formality than a real formational opportunity. To inject new life into these days, new voices that confirm your mission and offer new angles to its pursuit, are often helpful. The Forum’s professional development workshops do just this. Each workshop is tailored to the specific needs that a school head identifies. Common topics of workshops we run include: mentoring, teaching boys, working with parents, seminar discussion and socratic method, and freedom and formation. Consultations
Our administrative team offers counsel to school leaders on any issue related to education and formation—everything from developing a mentoring program to faculty hiring and development, to admissions and marketing. Consultations are available both on campus and remotely.
