Jim Nelson has been at The Heights since 1999. He came to the school after spending twenty-five years as a cryptologic technician in the U. S. Navy, ending his career as a master chief petty officer.  While on active duty, he completed a bachelor’s degree in history from the State University of New York and a master’s degree in education from Marymount University.  Following retirement from the Navy, he received an M.L.S. from The Catholic University of America and began work as the first librarian at The Heights in May of 1999. He and his wife, Nancy, make their home in Rockville, Maryland.
