The Forum at America250: National Convention for Christian Educators

This past weekend at The Union League of Philadelphia, Forum Director Rich Moss and Executive Director Nate Gadiano had the privilege of attending and speaking at America250: National Convention for Christian Education hosted by the Stanley M. Herzog Foundation. Educators and leaders from around the nation gathered with the goal to call Christian educators to recommit to civic and formative education in this milestone year for America, and to explore how faith-formed education can help renew the moral foundations of our nation.

Rich’s first talk was titled “From Self-Serving to Self-Governing,” on cultivating personal responsibility and moral agency by helping students learn to lead themselves before leading others, rooted in the biblical understanding of ordered liberty. His second talk, “Toward a More Perfect Union,” explored how the future of this nation rests on a revival of founding values, not a revival from them.

Nate’s talk, “Forming a Virtuous Citizenry,” addressed how schools can partner with parents to form boys into men of character who are prepared to serve God in the middle of the public square.

The Heights Forum is very thankful to have participated with the Herzog Foundation and others as thought partners in this important conversation.
