Phil McGovern


Phil began his career at The Heights in October of 2002, overseeing the School’s business management and fundraising activities. For the prior twenty years, Phil worked in the communications industry first for AT&T, then Lucent Technologies and Verizon Communications. He held a variety of management positions at these companies, all related to sales, marketing and financial management. Phil received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Queens College, CUNY and his M.B.A. from The George Washington University, where he taught for eleven years as an adjunct professor in their School of Business. Phil and his wife Callie have four children – PJ, Sean, Callie and Grace. Sons PJ (’05) and Sean (’08) both earned degress from Providence College after graduating from The Heights. Daughter Callie graduated from Oakcrest School in McLean, Virginia in 2012; youngest daughter Grace currently attends Oakcrest School.

James Kolakowski


James is the Director of Annual Giving at The Heights as well as a proud alumnus. He earned a B.A. in History from the University of Dallas in 2007, before obtaining a master’s (S.T.L.) in Institutional and Social Communications from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome, Italy in 2010. James previously worked in the Department of Admission at the Universidad de Navarra in Pamplona, Spain, in addition to a number of inner city educational initiatives in Mexico, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.. Prior to serving as the Director of Annual Giving, James served as the Director of Alumni Relations at The Heights for two years.
